Our company is committed to providing you with a level of service and a product that exceeds industry standards. That is why we make the effort to continue to improve our EHRez application. This version [4.5 ] is the ONC Certified HIT 2014 Edition. It contains suggestions, required regulatory functionality and much more modern visual changes that provide you with a quality product. This article includes the details of new features and other improvements to our application.
New and Improved Functionality

- General Information / Patient Details / Appointments / Other
- Aesthetic Changes: All of the screens have a much more modern and competitive look.
- Main Menu: Users can now choose between an "Enhanced main menu" and a "Simple main menu". The default main menu can also be configured or changed anytime in the "Settings" option in the main menu screen.
- Login: More functionality has been added to the "Login" screen.

: Several Improvements
- Appointment / Patient Alerts: We've added functionality for users to create patient alerts. How to create patient alerts?
- Appointment / Recurring: You can now create recurring appointments.
- Appointment / Reports / Reminders: Several improvements to this screen. Users can select multiple patients to send written or electronic communication.
- Appointment / (Add/Edit Appointment): Added functionality to confirm appointments.
- Appointment / Lookup: Users can now search for past or future patient appointments.

Messages: Added functionality now includes the ability to complete clinical data reconciliation (Medication, Problem list and Allergies) via a CCDA received from other providers or from patients.
- Patient Details: Improvements made to "race", "ethnicity", "language" and "document" fields and a "Direct" address field was added to be able to send "Direct" messages to the patient portal ("Microsoft Health Vault"). In addition, the following improvements were made:
- Eligibility: Users can check a patients eligibility without having a stored patient record for that patient.
- Patient Alerts: Create patient alerts
- Patient Portal: EHRez has integrated Microsoft's HealthVault as the patient portal. Providers can now upload CCDA's or general secured messages directly to HealthVault.
- Billing / Billing History: Users can now access the service history for the patient directly from the demographics screen.

Feedback: Mayor improvements to this feature. Users can search the Help Portal for answers prior to sending their suggestions.

Templates Store: New functionality - Via the template store, pre-established configuration can now be downloaded into your system for the following areas:

Clinical Records: Improvements to the "Auto Refresh" feature, the "Import File" and "Record Copy" buttons were eliminated and button labeled "Summary" was corrected to "Clinical Report".

Advanced Progress Note: New functionality was added and several new keywords can be used on the Sidebar.
- Advanced Progress Note / Settings: New option added: "Print Progress Note as Sorted list".
- Advanced Progress Note / Settings / Patient Alert: New screen to create Patient Alerts. These alerts will be displayed upon starting a new Progress Note.
- Advanced Progress Note / Save / F Codes: New functionality: On the Save Encounter screen press the "F-Codes" button and based on the information documented, all appropriate F-Codes will be auto-populated.
- The Classic Progress Note screen was eliminated. It had been slated for removal during summer 2014.

Addendum & Amendments: New data fields have been added.

Add Referral: This screen was modified. Referrals can now be sent electronically (CCDA) via "Secured Messaging".
- Allergy: The Allergy Reactions have been expanded with additional options and a "Severity" field has been added.

Clinical Decision Support: The former "Clinical Alerts" option is now labeled "Clinical Decision Support" and several data elements have been added to this functionality.
- Clinical Report: The former "Patient Summary" option is now known as "Clinical Report".
- Clinical Support: Screen modified to include several improvements. Patient education documents can now be transmitted electronically to the patient portal.
- Clinical Tasks: Orders can be created and tasked with a valid diagnosis code.
- Custom Alert: More options are available for Alerts configuration.

Custom Evaluation: The "Functional Status & Cognitive Status" tab was created. Selections made in this area will have the option to be shared through the CCDA.
- Close Encounter Viewer: A keyword search can now be conducted within closed progress notes.
- Drug Prescription: Diagnosis search functionality has been added.

Evaluation Form: More questionnaires have been added. Many are required for quality reporting.
- Family History: New screen has been created to exclusively document family history for Meaningful Use Measures (MU).
- Immunizations: Several improvements have been made to the screen and all of the vaccines listed by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have been included. (Click here to view the new vaccines list)
- Immunization / IIS: New screen was created to assist you with the creation of electronic immunization files.
- Medications: Several improvements were made to this screen.
- Search Medication: Several improvements were made to the "Search Medication" area.
- Search Medication / Medication Sig's: New columns are now available: "Frequency" & "Frequency Type".

Orders: Improvements were made to make order handling much easier.
- Orders: Screen changes makes it easier to read and organize orders and order results.
- Add New Order: The changes made makes it easier (and faster) to create new orders. Create order templates or create new orders based on a previous one.
- Add Order Result: Several improvements were made. A new screen was created: "Multiple Code Selection" for easier results entry.
- Order History: Several improvements were made to this screen.
- E-Labs: Electronic lab orders and results are now a reality. (Requires Configuration)
- Patient Summary: A new screen was created for quick access to print or transmit the patient's clinical summary, which helps providers with the appropriate Meaningful Use Measures (MU).
- Plan Care: New screen created to document "Plan of Care" for each patient. Information documented on this screen will have the option to be shared through the CCDA via Secured Messaging.
- Pregnancy Information: The following improvements were made:
- Recurring appointments can be created on this screen
- The Antepartum Record can be printed or exported
- Easier documentation of multiple pregnancies

Problem List: Several improvements were made, including: an ICD-9 to ICD-10 converter as well as SNOMED nomenclature, among others.

Smoking Status: More options were added to smoking status.

View Orders: Mayor improvements were made to make this screen easier to handle. Simpler search options.

Settings
- New Name: The former "Maintenance" menu is now called "Settings".
- Much more modern look and easier to navigate.

- Groups: More permissions were added to several areas of the application.
- Staff & Providers: A new option was created: "Copy Clinical Evaluations". This option allows administrators to create a new provider user based on the established configuration of another existing user.

- Referring Providers: "Direct Address" field was added.

Templates: S new option was created: "Reminders Email Templates". This is to create pre-configured templates for E-Mail messages to be used as reminders.

Clinical Decision Support: The former "Clinical Alerts" option is now labeled "Clinical Decision Support" and several data elements have been added to this functionality.
- Clinical Tasks Templates: Add a category to the Default Task.
- Clinical Templates: All Clinical Evaluation options are now Provider specific.
- Education Handout: Functionality made easier. You can associate education material to diagnosis codes or orders by using the new "Edit Mappings" option.
- Evaluation Forms Settings: LOINC codes can now be attached to any added option (required for some MU Measures).
- Evaluation Types: Custom Evaluations can now be provider specific.
- Facilities: Several improvements were made to this screen.
- Frequent Codes: The option previously listed as "Favorite Dx" is now called "Frequent Codes Settings". A new feature was added to allow users to search for ICD-10 and allergy substances codes (UNII).

Immunizations:
All of the vaccines listed by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have been included.
- Orders: Several CPT / LOINC mappings have been added.
- Referral Template: New functionality allows users to customize referral templates based on provider specialties.
- Reports
- The "Immunizations" option under the "HL7 Messaging" section was eliminated. This function is now available through the "Immunizations" screen.
- The "Export Summaries" function was added to the following sections: Patients, Appointments and Clinical.
- Meaningful Use Measures: All Stage 2 Meaningful Use Measures were added.
- Measures Details: New functionality provides users with specific details for each measure / quality report. The details include the specific patients that are included under all classifications: "pending", "initial population", "denominator", "numerator", "exclusions" & "exception".
- Other Changes
- ICD-10: Starting with version 4.5, ICD-10 is now integrated into the system. A converter has been built into the system to allow providers to manually convert ICD-9 to their appropriate ICD-10.
- Hosted Version (SAAS): Also with version 4.5, NEW clients will have this option available to them. This version does not require the provider to purchase a server or a "backup" service for their practice. For the SAAS option, backups are already included in the service agreement with E-Health Partners, Inc. The SAAS option will be made available soon for existing clients. Note: Under the SAAS option, workstations requirements are still the same.
Recommendations after installing version 4.5
- Patient Details: It is extremely important to collect the following data elements from your patients in order to comply with Stage 2 MU measures.
