1st Step: Identify the alert.

  • The following website is recommended: www.guideline.gov, here you will find some guide references that will help create the preferred alerts of the office. 


2nd Step: Create the alert


There are several options for configuring clinical alerts.  


Option #1

  • Click on the QuickLinks text, located at the top of the screen. 

  • Select the Settings option.

  • The following screen will be displayed:


  • Click on the Clinical button and then select the Clinical Decision Support option. 


  • The following screen will be displayed: 


  • If there are any open progress notes for any patient, the screen will be displayed, with the name of the patient Example: 


  • In both cases, press the Add button, located at the top of the screen. 
  • The following screen will be displayed: 


  • Write the description of the clinical alert. 


  • Select the frequency period, in which you want the clinical alert to be displayed.


  • Select the group, which you want the clinical alert to be available.  


  • Select the Smoking Status if necessary.


  • Select to which group of patients you want the clinical alert to be displayed.


  • Type the alert, counter indication or reaction that will be displayed in the alert. Select which group will have reference material available.

 

  • If the alert is being created from a guideline, fill in the following fields, References, Clinical Guidelines, Bibliographic Citation, Intervention Developer, Funding Source, External Ids, and Add Link to current alert. You will find this information in the selected guideline.


  • Section to add the range of vital signs for the alert to be created. In the same section, you can enter the dates you want the alert to be displayed.


  • If you wish to add any diagnosis related to the alert created, click on the Diagnosis tab, located on the right side of the screen.  
  • The following screen will be displayed:


  • Select the diagnosis, related to the clinical alert. If it is an active diagnosis of the patient, select the Present checkbox.


  • If you wish to add a medication related to the alert, click on the Medications tab, located on the right side of the screen. 


  • The following screen will be displayed: 


  • Select the medication corresponding to the clinical alert. If it is an active medication of the patient, select the Present checkbox.


  • If you wish to add laboratory results, click on the Laboratory Results tab, located on the right side of the screen.


  • The following screen will be displayed:


  • Select the laboratory result, which you want to add to the clinical alert. 


  • If you wish to add an allergy to the patient's alert, click on the Allergies tab, located on the right side of the screen. 


  • The following screen will be displayed: 


  • Select the allergy you wish to add to the clinical alert. If it is an active allergy of the patient, select the Present checkbox.


  • If you wish to add a procedure to the clinic alert, click on the Procedures tab, located on the right side of the screen.


  • The following screen will be displayed: 


  • Select the procedure you want to add to the clinical alert. If it is an active patient procedure, select the Present checkbox.


  • If you wish to add a referral to the clinic alert, click on the Referrals tab, located on the right side of the screen.


  • The following screen will be displayed:


  • Select the referral you wish to add to the clinical alert.


  • Once the clinical alert configuration is complete, press the Save button located at the top of the screen.


  • Automatically, the alert will be displayed. In this case, the alert was configured for a specific patient.


Option #2
  • Press the Settings button in the main menu. 


  • The following screen will be displayed:


  • Click on the Clinical button and then select the Clinical Decision Support option. 


  • The following screen will be displayed: 


  • If there are any open progress notes for any patient, the screen will be displayed, with the name of the patient Example: 


  • In both cases, press the Add button, located at the top of the screen. 
  • The following screen will be displayed: 


  • Write the description of the clinical alert. 


  • Select the frequency period, in which you want the clinical alert to be displayed.


  • Select the group, which you want the clinical alert to be available.  


  • Select the Smoking Status if necessary.


  • Select to which group of patients you want the clinical alert to be displayed.

Option #3

  • Click on the QuickLinks text located at the top of the screen and select the Settings Clinical Decision Support option..


  • The following screen will be displayed:
