Description
Create, print or transmit patient referrals.
Access
- Through the Side Bar section: To add a referral, click the 'Add Referral' button on the Side Bar within the Progress Note screen. If the 'Add Referral' button is missing, click the 'Settings' button on the toolbar of the Progress Note screen, then choose 'Side Bar Settings'. From the 'Available Items' area on the right, select 'Add Referral' and drag it to the 'Items' window in the lower left corner under any Side Bar category. Afterward, click 'Save' to apply the changes. The Side Bar will update, and the 'Add Referral' button will now be visible under the chosen category.

- Through the Search section: Click on the Search button located on the left side of the screen, then select the Add Referral button.

Sections
- New Tab: To create a new referral, specify the desired provider or specialty to which the referral should be directed.
Buttons
- Save: Allows to save the referral.
- Cancel: Allows to save the referral.
- Previous: Allows to close the screen.
- From Template: Field for selecting a referral template.
- Referral Type: Choose the type of patient referral.
- Search by Specialty: Enables the performance of a specialty provider search.
- Set: Accesses the Favorite Specialties Control Screen.
Close: This action clears any selections made in the specialty field.
- Search for Specific Provider: Enables the performance of a specific provider search.
- Set: Open the Referring Provider screen to add or edit provider information.
Close: Clear any selection made in the provider field.
- In - Network: Indicates whether the provider is part of the EHRez network for electronic referrals.
- Direct:The system displays the Direct Messaging address for the chosen provider if it has been configured. Direct addresses should be added to the referring provider's record at the following location: Settings > Office > Referring Provider.
- Note: You can add direct addresses to the referring provider's record by manually typing the address into the designated field and pressing the Enter key, or through the Settings Module by navigating to: Settings > Office > Referring Provider.
- Print Out: Enables the display of referrals for printing purposes.
- Attach Summary: Upon verification and given that the provider has a direct address, a C-CDA will be attached to the outgoing referral message.
- Use eReferral / Direct: Ensure electronic referrals are sent.
- History Tab: Display all referrals issued to the patient.
- Referral: (Tab) The referral should include details of demographic and clinical information such as the reason for referral, medications, problems, allergies, vital signs, and a conclusion.
- Referral Reason: Enables the writing of the referral reason.
- Clinical Information: The patient's medications, active diagnoses, active allergies and vital signs will be displayed. This is for viewing information only.
- Conclusion: Allows to record the conclusion of the supplier's treatment.
- Summary (Tab): In this tab, the patient's CCDA (Health Summary) will be displayed. The Attach Summary option must be selected. You must have the Attach Summary option selected, located at the bottom left of the screen.
- Health Summary: Display the construction of the patient's clinical summary, according to the selected sections, in the “What to include” section.
- Response:(Tab) In this tab, the user will be able to record the details of the response about the referral and print it. This tab will be displayed when selecting one of the referrals already saved in the (History) tab.
