Description

Main screen for patient management in an emergency room. The user will be able to perform several functions such as: configure the reason for the visit, print report of the orders sent to the patient, view the history of the patients that were removed from the Arrivals section, add documents, create reports of the patient management in the emergency room, view report of the pending and completed clinical tasks. It has two main areas: Arrivals and Workflow Items (these tabs are configured in the Settings / Office / Workflow Label Settings screen).


Access


Through Main Menu

  • In the main menu, press the Workflow button. 

Through Appointments 

  • Go to the Appointments screen. 
  • Press the More button located at the top of the screen and select the Workflow option.


Sections


Buttons (Arrivals Section) 


  • Subject Settings: When pressed, it allows you to configure the reasons for the patient's visit, upon arrival at the emergency room. 


  • Print Orders Sheet: When pressed, it displays the report of the orders to be performed, as clinical tasks of the selected patient. 
  • Dismissals History: Displays the patient history, which was removed from the Arrivals section.


  • Documents: When pressed, it allows you to register documents to the selected patient. 


  • Reports: Displays the report screen, related to patients, who have already been discharged from the emergency room.  
  • Viewer: Displays the Workflow Viewer screen to show the arrival and location of waiting patients in the emergency room.


  • Active Tasks: It displays the report of clinical tasks pending for all patients. It is used in most cases by nurses, mainly when there is a change of shift in the emergency room. 


  • Completed Tasks: Displays the report of completed clinical tasks for all patients. It is used, in most cases, by nurses, mainly when shift change occurs in the emergency room. (This report will only be displayed when the Mark as Completed button is pressed in the Clinical Tasks section of the progress note). 
  • Previous: Closes screen. 


Tabs

  • Arrivals: Main section, where patients are registered, in order of arrival. In the same way, patients are displayed, who are noted, through self-registration, upon arrival at the emergency room. 


En esta sección, se puede realizar lo siguiente:

  • Control the flow of patients arriving at a diagnostic and treatment center. 
  • Allows to add patients in order of arrival (both existing and new patients).\Allows to create the record, to those new patients.
  • Allows to edit/remove patients from the list.
  • Allows to assign the patient to a specific room and provider under a category.

Important Note: The Workflow screen and the Appointments screen work together, therefore, patients registered in Appointments, as they arrived, will appear in the Workflow screen. 


Botones

  • Add Arrival: When pressed, it allows you to register the arriving patient. The list of patients will be organized in the order of arrival to the emergency room. 


  • Edit Arrival: When pressed, it allows you to edit the selected patient's information, either by date of birth, telephone number, reason for the visit and if necessary, the person accompanying the patient. 


  • Assign Patient: When pressed, it allows you to assign the selected patient to an evaluation room, select the provider by which he/she will be attended, register the category, if not previously configured, so that it comes out as default and write a note. When a patient is assigned to the evaluation room of the center or emergency room, it will automatically go to the Workflow Items section.


  • If the patient has any open progress notes, the following message will be displayed:


  • Otherwise, the following screen will appear:
  • Remove Patient: When pressed, the selected patient can be removed from the list. 


  • Automatically, the following confirmation message will be displayed: 


Columns
The following columns are configured in the Settings / Office / Workflow Label Settings screen.


  • Date: Displays the date and time when the patient was registered in the emergency room or center.
  • Patient Name: Displays the name of the patient, who arrived at the center or emergency room. 
  • Reason for coming: Displays the name of the patient, who arrived at the center or emergency room. 
  • Companion: Display the patient's companion's name.


  • Tabla: Section where the patients that are being registered in the system will be displayed. By double clicking on the selected patient, the Add Workflow screen will be displayed, to locate the patient in the corresponding evaluation room, assign the provider who will attend the patient, register the priority category of the visit and register a note related to the visit. 
Note: All those patients who registered in the system through the Auto Registration and do not have a record number assigned, will be identified in yellow color. 


  • Workflow Items: Section of the screen, where the patient's location and treatment is worked out. 


In this section, the following can be performed:
  • Print Order Sheet: When pressed, it displays the report of the clinical task orders sent to the selected patient. 
  • Discharged Patients: Displays the report of patients, who have been treated and discharged, according to the system. 


  • Dispositions History: Displays the history of patients, who have been removed, with a disposition.


  • e-Labs: Management of the electronic laboratories. When pressed, the Electronic Laboratory Result screen will be displayed.


  • Documents: When pressed, it allows you to register documents to the selected patient.


  • Consent Forms / Documents Forms: When pressed, it allows you to use pre-configured document templates, automatically display the required pre-configured documents in the Settings / Office / Templates screen, add discharge documents, record the patient's signature on multiple documents, replace keywords on all documents and replace the user's signature on selected documents. 


  • Reports: Displays the report screen, related to patients, who were discharged, and marked Discharge. 

  • Viewer: Displays the Workflow Viewer screen to show the arrival and location of waiting patients in the emergency room.  


  • Active Tasks: It displays the report of the pending clinical tasks of all patients. It is used, in most cases, by nurses, mainly when there is a change of shift in the emergency room.


  • Completed Tasks: Displays the report of completed clinical tasks for all patients. It is used, in most cases, by nurses, mainly when a shift change occurs in the emergency room. (This report will only be displayed when the Mark as Completed button is pressed in the Clinical Tasks section of the progress note).
  • Previous: Closes screen. 


  • Date / To: The system displays by default a date range of three days. The user can select the date range he/she wants to display the patients. 


  • Todays (Enlace): When pressed, displays in the list, only the patients who arrived at the emergency room on the current day. 


  • Report (Enlace): When pressed, it displays the report of the patients, according to the selected date range. The report can be printed.


  • Refresh: When pressed, it allows you to refresh the screen. 


  • Filter by the logged in office: When selected, patients are displayed according to the office to which the user is connected.


  • Show Discharge Patients: When selected, displays the list of patients, who were discharged. 


  • Planning Summary Care: Displays the Encounter Summary screen for the selected patient. 


  • Patient Rebound: When pressed, it displays the Assign Patient screen, with the purpose of attending the patient, who returns to the emergency room, in less than 24 hours, to be attended in the same evaluation. 


  • If more than 24 hours have passed since the patient was discharged, the following message is displayed.


Tabla

  • Label: Displays the color of the patient's visit, as configured in the Settings / Clinical / Clinical Tasks Templates / Arrivals Categories screen.


  • Alt Record No.: Displays the patient's alternate record number. 
  • Record No: Displays the patient's record number.
  • Patient: Display the patient's name.
  • Office: Displays the office, center or emergency room where the patient will be treated. 
  • Location: Displays the evaluation room or location, where the patient is currently located.
  • Subject: Displays the main reason why the patient arrived at the center or emergency room. These are configured in the Arrivals section by pressing the Subject Settings button located at the top of the screen. Also, they are configured in the Settings / Clinical / Clinical Tasks Templates / Arrivals Categories screen.
  • Arrival Date: Displays the date, which the patient arrived at the center or emergency room. 
  • Category: Displays the category, with which the patient was classified, upon arrival at the emergency room or center. 
  • Provider: Displays the provider, which was assigned to the patient.
  •  View / Edit Notes: Section to write any type of note.


  • Discharge Patient: When pressed, it will indicate that the patient has been discharged from the emergency room. A confirmation message will be displayed automatically: 


  •  Add New Location: When pressed, it allows patients to change evaluation room or location in the emergency room. 


  • More Options: Through this button, you can access different screens. Among them:


  • Discharge Patient: When pressed, it will indicate that the patient has been discharged from the center or emergency room. Automatically, the confirmation message will be displayed: 


  • Change Room Location: When pressed, it allows patients to change evaluation room or location in the emergency room.  
  • View Clinical Tasks: When pressed, the Tasks screen will automatically be displayed so that the nurse can complete the clinical tasks assigned to the selected patient. 


  • Discharge Patient With Disposition: Pressing indicates that the patient was discharged from the emergency room with some disposition. A Template must be selected, in order to justify the inactivity of that patient.


  • Room Histoy: By pressing , you can view the patient's movement history for the evaluation rooms.


  • Past Encounters: When pressed, the patient's last five progress notes will be displayed.


  • Clinical Task History: When pressed, displays the patient's clinical task history screen.


  • Has Pending Tasks: Indicates that the patient has pending clinical tasks.
  • Discharge Patients: It indicates that the patients were discharged. 
  • Restore Layout (Link): When pressed, it allows you to restore the original screen layout. 
  • Save Layout (Link): When pressed, it allows to save the user's desired design.


Options by pressing the right button on the screen.


  • Go to Patient Details: When selected, it will display the patient demographic screen. 

  • Signatures: When selected, it will display the screen of the users' signatures, which they documented in the progress note. 

  • View Orders: When selected, the screen of orders, prescriptions, referrals, educations and labs that have been sent to the patient will be displayed. 

  • View Order Summary: When selected, the clinical summary of the patient encounter will be displayed.
