The provider may add a second treatment to the patient as required. Note: Until the patient's first clinical tasks are completed, you will not be able to add a second treatment. 


  • Go to the Workflow screen.
  • Double-click on the patient to whom you will assign clinical tasks.


  • If Emergency Room is active, press twice on the patient. 


  • A message will be displayed, indicating that based on your configuration, the described Template is suggested (Note: These Templates are configured in the Progress Templates Settings screen).


  • Press the Yes button to apply the Template.
  • Press the No button to cancel the action. This allows the user to select the template of their choice.


  • Click on the Add Clinical Task button, located at the top of the Clinical Evaluation section of the progress note. 


  • If the Template to be used in the evaluation does not have the Ordered Task section, it will not allow you to add clinical tasks and will display the following message: 


  • If the Template has the Ordered Task section, then the following screen will be displayed: 


  • Press the New button, located at the top of the screen: 


  • The screen will be enabled to add the patient's clinical tasks.


  • If the provider wishes to add clinical tasks through the Templates, select them in the Templates section. (Note: These are configured in the Clinical Task Templates Settings screen).
  • Press the Apply button on the Template you wish to add as the patient's clinical task.


  • Automatically, the tasks will be moved to the Patient Treatment section. 


  • The provider will be able to add more clinical tasks, if necessary, from the Quick Treatment section or by clicking on the links in the Patient Treatment section.
  • Once the clinical task is completed, click on the Attach to Patient button located at the top of the screen.


  • It will automatically go to the Clinical Tasks section in the progress note. 


  • Once added, it will automatically go to the Order Tasks section, if you do not have this section, in the progress note, you will not be able to add clinical tasks to the patient.


  • If you only want to add individual clinical tasks, they can be selected from the Quick Treatment and Patient Treatment section. 
  • Write any notes related to the clinical task in the Notes section.


  • To select medications, select through the available medications. You will automatically be taken to the Patient Treatment section. 


  • If the medication is not available, click on the Available Medications link in the Quick Treatment section or on the Medications link in the Patient Treatment section. 


  • The following screen will be displayed: 


  • Press the Add button located at the top of the screen (Note: This action can only be performed if the user has not selected the Clinical File Clinical Task Use Available Medications Only permission in the Settings / General / Groups screen).


  • In both scenarios, the following screen will be displayed:


  • Search for the drug you wish to administer to the patient.


  • Once selected, press the Save button, located at the top of the screen. 


  • It will be displayed automatically, for the administration configuration. 


  • Once configured, press the Save button. 


  • If you have selected the Check Interactions checkbox on the Search Medications screen, it will begin to check the medications. Then, automatically, it will be displayed in the Patient Treatment section.


  • To add orders to be placed on the patient, select from the Available Orders section. 


  • If the order you wish to place for the patient is not among the available orders, click on the Available Orders link in the Quick Treatment section or click on the Orders link in the Patient Treatment section.


  • In both scenarios, the following screen will be displayed:


  • Search for the order you wish to place on the patient and select the diagnosis code related to the order. 


  • Then, press the Save button, located at the top of the screen. 


  • If the selected diagnosis is not the patient's, the following confirmation message will be displayed. 


  • Press the Yes button to add to the patient's active diagnoses. 
  • Press the No button to not add to the patient's active diagnoses. 
  • It will automatically go to the Patient Treatment section. 
  • To add procedures to be performed on the patient, select from the Available Procedures section.


  • If the procedure to be performed on the patient is not among the available procedures, click on the Available Procedures link in the Quick Treatment section or click on the Procedures link in the Patient Treatment section. 


  • In both scenarios, the following screen will be displayed: 


  • Search for the procedure to be performed. Then, press the Save button, located at the top of the screen. 


  • You will automatically go to the Patient Treatment section. 
  • To add any general instructions regarding the clinical task, click on the General link in the Patient Treatment section.


  • The following screen will be displayed: 


  • Enter the instructions and any related notes to the clinical task. Then press the Save button located at the top of the screen.


  • To add a diagnosis code related to the patient's clinical task, click on the ICD Codes link. 


  • The following screen will be displayed: 


  • Perform the diagnostic code search and then press the Save button located at the top of the screen. 


  • Once you have added all clinical tasks, such as patient treatment, press the Attach to Patient button located at the top of the screen. 


  • It will automatically go to the Clinical Tasks section in the progress note. 


  • Once the patient's first treatment has been completed, the provider may press the Add Clinical Task button on the next evaluation to add a second treatment, if the patient requires it. 


  • If the nurse completed the tasks, but did not press the Mark as Competed button, the following message will be displayed:


  • Click on the Yes button to complete them. 
  • The following screen will be displayed:


  • Once the Save button has been pressed, the Clinical Tasks screen will be displayed to add the second treatment to the patient.
