EHRez has partnered with ID.me, a credentialing service provider, to meet SureScripts' requirements for identity verification. Your personal information will only be used to verify your identity. No personal information other than your name and contact information will be stored.
Important Note: You are not yet logged in to the ID.me portal. Follow the steps below:
Before beginning the activation process of sending electronic prescriptions for controlled substances, the provider must verify the following:
- Your DEA number has been saved as part of your provider credentials in our EHRez application.
- You may need a government-issued ID, depending on your proof of identity status with ID.me.
- You must have access to a smart phone that can receive text messages, download applications and take pictures. This will be necessary in the future to send prescriptions for controlled substances.
- You must assign an EHRez administrator, other than yourself, to grant you permission to send electronic prescriptions for controlled substances. It is not necessary for the other administrator or clinical staff you authorize to have the e-prescribing feature enabled. If you are the only administrator in your practice, you will need to designate another user on your office or emergency room staff as an administrator temporarily to complete the EPCS activation. You can then change the administrator status of that user once the EPCS verification is complete.
Once you have verified all the requirements for EPCS activation, proceed to the next steps:
- Go to the main menu.
- Click on the Welcome text, located at the top left of your screen.
- Select the Activate EPCS option.
- The following screen will be displayed:
Step #1 Confirm your DEA Number
- Verify the AED number and then press the Confirm button.
- If the DEA number in Surescripts does not match the number registered in the Staff & Providers screen, the following message will be displayed. Contact our call center staff at 787-625-0440.
